Properties: Yellow to orange needles from water, dec 283-284°. [a]D23 -49° (c = 0.26 in 0.05N NaOH). Sparingly sol in water, even less sol in alcohol. Freely sol with decompn in alkaline aq solns.
Optical Rotation: [a]D23 -49° (c = 0.26 in 0.05N NaOH)
Use: Growth-promoting agent in feedstuffs.
