Literature References: A salt mixture used in biological laboratories to make artificial sea water. When the natural product is not available, the following recipe may be used: sodium chloride (NaCl) 2815 g; potassium chloride (KCl) 67 g; magnesium chloride (MgCl2.6H2O) 551 g; magnesium sulfate (MgSO4.7H2O) 692 g. Dissolve each salt (technical grade) separately and dilute the combined solns to 95 l; then add calcium chloride (CaCl2) 145 g dissolved in 5 l H2O.
