Properties: Orange-yellow powder. Freely sol in water with yellow color; sol in alcohol.
 
Use: As acid-base indicator and in the determination of fluorine, usually used as a 1% aq soln. pH: 3.7 yellow, 5.2 purple; as a reagent for aluminum and stain in microscopy.
