Properties: Crystals from benzene, mp 113-114°. Slight odor of mercaptans. uv max (water): 210, 261, 318 nm (log e 3.66, 4.08, 1.8). Soly in water at 25° 16.3 g/100 ml; in ethanol 26.4 g/100 g. Sparingly sol in ether. MLD orally in rats: 200 mg/kg (Ambrose).
