Properties: Leaflets from ether + petr ether or from carbon tetrachloride, mp 69°. Sublimes easily forming shiny needles. Volatile with steam. Freely sol in water, ether. Moderately sol in warm chloroform, benzene, carbon tetrachloride. Practically insol in petr ether. Sol in alkalies forming yellow solns. Faintly acid to litmus. pK (25°) 8.39.
