Properties: Light-pink crystals. Readily sol in water.

Properties: Intense red, monoclinic, prismatic crystals. d 1.705. On heating becomes anhydrous by 140°. Sol in water, alcohols, dil acids, pentyl acetate. pH of 0.2 molar aq soln 6.8.

Use: Bleaching agent and drier for lacquers, varnishes; in anodizing; catalyst for oxidation and esterification; foam stabilizer for malt beverages.
